Meet Harland: Supply chain management

Carson Hopkins Headshot

At Trovex, every successful project depends on meticulous planning and strong supply chain management. That’s where Harland Davis, our Material Planner, plays a vital role. From scheduling deliveries to working closely with suppliers, Harland ensures that every project has the right materials in the right place at the right time.

Keeping projects moving

"It’s about spotting trends and ordering the correct amounts so we don’t get caught short. Once that’s in place, I update the production schedules and let managers know when materials are expected to arrive.”

Harland’s role goes beyond ordering. He spends time liaising with suppliers, chasing delivery confirmations, and supporting colleagues across sales, business development, and production with updated pricing and material availability. This coordination means clients can trust that their projects will progress smoothly.

Why planning matters

“No project can be completed without the items,” Harland explains.

He highlights the importance of clients being mindful of lead times, especially when choosing colours or specialist materials. Some options may require a minimum order quantity (MOQ) or longer delivery period. “If a client wants a colour that’s subject to an MOQ, it might mean waiting three weeks. Planning ahead avoids that delay.”

What sets Trovex apart

For Harland, it all comes down to relationships.

“We’ve built really strong connections with our suppliers. That makes all the difference. Recently, we had a short-notice job where materials were needed urgently. Because of our supplier relationship, we collected the materials within 30 minutes and got the job out the same day. That’s the benefit for our clients, they can rely on us to make things happen.”

Advice for clients

When asked what advice he would give clients, Harland is clear: plan early and check availability.

“If a colour or product is subject to an MOQ, expect a longer lead time. If you want materials quickly, choose from the options that are stocked. The earlier we know the quantities and requirements, the better we can secure materials and meet the delivery dates of your project.”
