Healthcare IPS design: balancing aesthetic with compliance

In healthcare interior design, creativity often comes under pressure. Infection control standards, technical regulations and practical constraints can feel at odds with the desire to design spaces or include systems that inspire and support wellbeing.
But compliance doesn’t have to mean compromise. With the right materials, products, detailing and supply chain partners, designers for healthcare can deliver interiors that are both visually engaging and fully aligned with HTM and HBN guidance from the first to the last fixture.
So how can a system unlock design freedom whilst still ensuring full compliance is achieved?
Healthcare IPS compliance
Hygipod IPS has been designed specifically for healthcare environments, simplifying the creation of spaces that are fully healthcare compliant.
Each unit is manufactured to meet HTM and HBN guidance, incorporating one seamless hygienic finish, rounded edges and flush fittings to eliminate dirt traps and support rigorous cleaning. This attention to detail means that when Hygipod IPS is specified, it doesn’t just comply as a single fixture, it helps the entire room achieve compliance too.
By integrating Hygipod IPS into a room, ward or department, you gain:
-
Guaranteed compliance with healthcare standards – every component is engineered for infection control and durability, reducing specification mistakes and simplifying compliance.
-
A prefabricated & easy to install solution for complex requirements – units arrive on site fully finished, avoiding on-site fabrication issues that can lead to non-compliance and minimising disturbance to day-to-day to day operations.
-
Consistency across multiple spaces – Our IPS systems are ideal for projects involving repeated room types, ensuring a uniform standard of quality and compliance throughout.
-
Design freedom with reassurance – a wide range of colours and woodgrain finishes (40+) give architects flexibility to create uplifting interiors while contributing to enhanced infection prevention.
"We've had nothing but positive comments from all parties about the Hygipod IPS - from the cleaning and maintenance perspective it makes life so much easier, and it looks really good." Jaysun Tuffin, Contract Manager at West Middlesex University Hospital.
