Our part in the project

A key aspect of the centre’s development was the integration of advanced solutions from the Trovex One Hygienic Finish Family to enhance hygiene and durability. The project incorporated Trovex products such as Hygidoor and Hygipod, along with specialised wall cladding finishes. These products were developed to meet the specific needs of surgical environments. These elements contribute to maintaining a clean and infection-controlled environment, which is critical in any surgical setting.

The design approach applied a coordinated colour scheme across different doors and integrated plumbing systems aiding wayfinding for both patients and staff. This thoughtful use of colour creates a visually distinct environment that not only supports operational efficiency but also promotes patient wellbeing. The durable, hygienic interiors are built to last, reflecting a commitment to long-term maintenance and infection control.

Project Outcome

The opening of the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre marks a significant milestone for orthopaedic services in the region. Nick Hulme, Chief Executive of ESNEFT, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is a fantastic day for us and for those people who are currently waiting, in pain, for an operation that will help them to get back to their normal lives.” He further acknowledged the dedication behind the project, adding, “Everyone has worked extremely hard and we couldn’t have done it without their superb efforts.” Patients at the centre have reported good outcomes and high levels of satisfaction with the care they receive.

This new orthopaedic centre represents the future of elective orthopaedic surgery by combining cutting-edge surgical facilities, specialist care, and patient-centred design. It promises to improve outcomes for patients requiring joint replacement and other orthopaedic procedures, reducing waiting times and enhancing the overall quality of care. The centre is committed to helping patients regain their quality of life, restoring independence and mobility. In addition to a wide range of procedures, the centre offers expertise in treating conditions involving nerves, tendon injuries, tendons, and rheumatology-related disorders. As a dedicated orthopaedic hub, the centre stands as a beacon of surgical excellence and innovation in the field of orthopaedics.
