Ainsley Shedden is a key link between the early design stages and the delivery of our hygienic interior solutions. His approach is grounded in consistency, clarity and passion. Supporting contractors, clients and architects to create spaces that are not only functional but realise the benefits of one hygienic finish.

Guiding projects with clarity

Ainsley’s role typically begins once the Trovex Specification team has helped architects settle on the right solution for their project. From there, Ainsley steps in to manage enquiries, technical support, and product scheduling, often taking projects right through to handover with the site project management team.

The clarity of this process is vital. “Each handover stage needs to be consistent and quick” he explains. “That way, the client isn’t left confused, and we maintain consistency not just across the product finish, but across the whole service experience.”

Unlocking the value of the one hygienic finish

For Ainsley, the true strength of Trovex lies in its cohesive product family. “Clients are always surprised to find that our fire-doors, integrated plumbing systems, vertical bed head trunking and wall cladding all come in one consistent hygienic PVC finish,” he says. “Visually, it transforms a space, especially in places like healthcare and mental health environments, where the look and feel of the interior has a real impact.”

Rather than feeling cold and overly clinical, one hygienic finish allows wards and washrooms to be tailored for different users, from dementia care and children’s wards to mental health units. “You’re not stuck with plain white walls,” Ainsley adds. “You can bring warmth and calm into the space, while still meeting the most demanding hygiene requirements.”

Tailoring to each sector

Not every project follows the same path, and not every client has the same needs. Ainsley often finds himself adapting the offer based on sector-specific requirements.

“For example, if a project is in the mental health sector, we might recommend our Hygipod Safe or Tough instead of the standard unit. But it all comes down to speaking to the right stakeholders and understanding the end user’s needs,” he says. “It’s not just about delivering a product. It’s about delivering the right product.”

Bringing confidence to the construction process

Contractors face their own challenges too, especially when dealing with unfamiliar solutions like pre-plumbed and prefabricated integrated plumbing systems. Ainsley emphasises how important it is for everything to be clear and easy to digest from quotation to delivery. “With Hygipod IPS, we reassure that they are built ready to be fitted and used. That level of certainty is a huge benefit to our partners on site.”

Long-term thinking, built in

Durability is a recurring theme in Ainsley’s conversations with clients.

“Our PVC encapsulated systems are still in use after 10 or 11 years, which just wouldn’t be the case with standard materials. Clients who’ve seen typical washroom materials delaminate after a few years come to us knowing they need something better.”

Consistency. Depth. Approachability.

Reflecting on his role, Ainsley sums up his approach in three words: consistent, in-depth, and approachable.

“You’re dealing with so many people. Contractors, clients, architects. Being consistent in your process helps keep things steady. Then there’s digging deep. You need to understand as much as possible before passing it on. Finally, just being someone people want to pick up the phone to: friendly, reliable, dependable.”

For Ainsley, it’s about more than just selling a product. It’s about building trust and helping people realise the full value of the Trovex one hygienic finish.
